In a near future world, John Savan is one of the cultural elite before the right call at the wrong time costs him his job. As he watches his employment rating fall to the point that no one will hire him, Savan finds himself taking a job as courier, delivering messages and packages for executives who can’t leave an electronic trail for someone else to follow.

Savan meets Cat, a courier who is tasked with showing him the ropes. Together they explore an urban jungle, the world seen through two sets of eyes and presented from two very different perspectives. A single parent trying to survive below the poverty line, Cat is just as lost when a courier delivery takes them into the realm of Savan's former life as he is learning how to fit into a world where who you are is worth more than how much money you make.

A love story of a fallen elite warrior and a single mom, Night contrasts the connections of wealth with the bonds of tribe, community gardens with five star restaurants, and the keys held by the cultural elite to the locks faced by the lower classes. Touching on topics as relevant to our current lives as unemployment, health care, poverty, cloning, and how technology changes our lives, the world of Night is filled with haves and have-nots, bound together by an incurable epidemic that stalks the streets and is blind to social status.
